부유 Wandering
현대 사회에 이르러 인간이 맞이하게 된 가장 큰 변화는 바로 교통과 통신의 발달이다. 이제 우리는 어느 곳이든 갈 수 있고, 누구와도 관계 맺을 수 있다. 자유를 얻게 된 인간에게 정착이란 그저 빛바랜 선택지일 뿐이다. 반면 부유는, 어디로든 향할 수 있다. 무한한 가능성을 품고 있는 인간의 궁극적 발견물인 것이다. 그리하여 우리는 본능적으로 부유를 갈망한다. 그리고 이는 곧 오늘날 인간이 행하는 기본 문법이 되어 간다.
노마드 예술가에게 부유의 포착은 익숙하다. 속박에서 벗어나 새로운 가치를 창조하는 것에 관심을 두는 이들은 우리 앞에서 유랑하거나, 이미 사라지고 없는 모든 것들을 담아내고자 한다. 비선형적으로 부유하는 노마드 예술가는 그렇게 자신이 인식하고 있는 이미지를 변형하고 왜곡하여 우리의 상상력을 자극한다.
The greatest change that humanity has encountered as it progresses into contemporary society is undoubtedly the advancement in transportation and communication. Now, we can go anywhere and connect with anyone. The settlement, once a beacon of freedom for humans, has become a faded choice. On the contrary, wandering offers the ultimate discovery for humans carrying infinite possibilities. Thus, we instinctively desire wandering, which has become the fundamental syntax of human behavior today.
For nomadic artists, capturing wandering is familiar territory. Interested in breaking free from constraints and creating new values, they roam before us, aiming to encapsulate everything that exists or has vanished. Nomadic artists, wandering non-linearly, manipulate the images they perceive and stimulate our imagination.
